As a coder working for small development shops, I have been asked to wear many hats besides the obvious cap of pure programmer: tech support, network administrator, hardware technician, and quite often designer. Certainly I do not design in the strictest sense, but in the sense that HTML and CSS are layout and styling languages, whose implementation in the various browsers and versions put their proper usage well beyond the ken of many graphic designers. When the site designs become too complicated I am often called upon to dust off my copy of Photoshop to slice up the proofs and convert them into standards compliant HTML and CSS. Of the hundreds of sites I have sliced up, here are a couple of the more complicated layouts.
